2020 portrait INVESTMENT
I’m a small-town photographer and educator fueled by one part glamour, two parts grit, and a whole lotta grace.
As a photographer, I’ve been awarded by Shoot & Share, published in both House of Flynn Magazine and Pretty Presets Magazine, and featured on Looks Like Film, as well as countless other instagram feeds and blogs. But truth is, as cool as those moments were, nothin' compares to seein' the look on your face when you view your images for the very first time.

"EVERYTHING WAS ABSOLUTELY PERFECT."
WORD ON THE STREET
"I was more than confident Jessica would be able to capture the type of wedding photos I wanted, strictly based off of her portfolio. After reviewing numerous photographers, Jessica had the best portfolio and experience to offer. We, along with all of our family and friends absolutely loved our photos. We were even featured on a large instagram account!
My favorite part was the way that Jessica made us feel so comfortable. She found unique ways to position us without being posed. She would tell us to do something that made us both laugh, and was then able to capture an image in the moment. Jessica was such a good fit for us because of her personality.
I look forward to working with Jessica again to capture more beautiful, unique images; (well that, and our new friendship!) Everything was absolutely perfect, from the quality of images, to the edits, to the turnaround time to receive my images back, and even the price! Jessica is just a very talented artist and if you have the privilege to work with her you will truly enjoy it!"
"EVEN MY HUSBAND SAID HE HAD FUN, AND HE HATES TAKING PICTURES."
WORD ON THE STREET
"I was considering a few other photographers before I booked with Jessica and was really worried I’d make the wrong choice, (turns out I didn’t.) When I viewed all of the different galleries, I felt Jessica had more pictures that stood out to me. She definitely has a pure talent/gift rather than just dumb luck. That’s why I decided to book her, because she had a better portfolio and more experience. Her pictures on her website were amazing and I was really drawn to her style.
Our pictures turned out AMAZING, and I loved that she let us choose from a large selection, whereas our previous photographer just chose them for us. My mom & Dad told me they’ve never seen so many amazing pictures taken in one session. They were both so impressed at how they looked so natural and not posed. They even got featured on a major Instagram account! It was such a fun, memorable experience! Jessica’s positive, happy, bubbly personality radiates and helps people feel comfortable! Even my husband said he had fun, so that’s a true success.”
After photographing for more than 5 years, I've found I'm not the perfect fit for every person.
That’s why this whole thing begins with an actual conversation - one about your story. I want to know everything — how you got to where you are, interesting things about your family, and anything else, (that usually has nothing to do with photography.)
I want to know your favorite things to do, what fires you up - and the legacy you want to leave behind. Because that's the stuff that really matters, and that's what I want to be communicated through your photos. I guess you could say - that's just how I roll.
There are so many ways you can go about choosing a location for your portrait session. Here are a few common approaches:
Maybe there's a sentimental spot you already know you want your session to take place at - done! Maybe you're interested in traveling, (or having me travel to you,) to capture your perfect session - that's easy too! Maybe you have no idea what you want when it comes to a location, and would feel better handing that part over to a professional - easy peasy! Whatever you're dreaming of, I gotta feelin' I can make it happen.
I'm a big fan of adventurous destinations, but that's just my wanderlust heart speaking. One of my favorite things to do is travel, so it makes sense that I'm always meeting others who love to do the same!
Maybe your idea of an adventurous location is just going out to the countryside for the day, because you live in the city. Or maybe it's going to that national park in your state that you love so much, or maybe you want to jet-set off to another country and immerse yourself in the culture while documenting it. Whatever the case - we can do it together!
Maybe nature isn't your thing - you're drawn to that edgy editorial vibe that comes with urban landscapes. Not a problem - I've got a ton of experience shooting that too! I've shot for music videos and models, singers and non-profits. You name it, I've probably shot it - and had a blast doing it. ;)
Common urban settings include: your town's downtown setting, rooftops, parks, entertainment districts, shopping areas, etc. We can brainstorm what urban location works best for you, and I'll help you every step of the way!
Have a spot you're dying to shoot at, but it's not in the same state - or maybe even country? Not a problem! I'm an avid traveler, (and have actually spent the last three years living in a foreign country.)
If there's one thing I know how to make happen, it's travel. In fact, if your dream destination is in New Zealand, Thailand, Bali, Indonesia, or Japan - I already know the ropes around there!
Reach out and shoot me your bucket list destination, and I'll create a timeline of travel and project breakdown to get this puppy rollin'. Need help picking a destination? I've got that covered too!
After we party it up and your session is finished, you can expect your photos to be delivered via online gallery within about 28 days after your shoot.
But, I hope the relationship doesn't end after I deliver your photographs. I'm totally down to meet up for coffee, start getting lunch together - and become real-life bff's.
It happens quite a lot! ;)

CHOOSING YOUR OUTFITS
Figuring out what to wear for your session doesn't have to be stressful. My number one tip? Don't feel like you have to go shopping!
Seriously. Nothing is more "you" than what is already in your closet! It's important that you feel and look like yourself, dress how you normally do, and ultimately; be as comfortable as possible! If that's an old band t-shirt and ripped jeans, go with it. Seriously! Since my shoots are def more "adventurous," being comfortable is preeetttty important!
Feel free to bring options, and I'll pull from them what I feel will work best for you. This way, I can make sure the outfits really compliment the locations we're shooting in.
So basically, just bring stuff that you feel like a million bucks in, and we'll just pick and choose from that. For reference, bring like 3 or 4 pairs of bottoms, and 4 or 5 tops, then you can bring dresses, accessories, jackets, etc. for us to really play up your personality! It's likely you'll be changing in a car on the side of the road, so if you're down with that - we're golden. ;)
Think about the locations we'll be shooting in and plan around that! If we're going to be hiking around in the mountains, bring good shoes for that. If we're going to be shooting on the beach, don't worry about shoes! If it's cold, bring layers to stay warm. If it's gonna be hot, wear clothes that breathe! It's that simple!
THE BLOG
For Heather & Anthony's anniversary session, they decided to bring their fur-baby Willow. Yes, I died, and yes - I was armed with treats.

"He held the crumpled piece of paper in his hands, trembling as he read it to her. Fighting back tears, he cleared the lump in his throat ..."
I love your work and i'm ready to book! What’s the next step?
Heck yes! All you need to do is respond to the email that contained this link, stating that you'd love to book, and I'll shoot you a proposal right over! (A proposal is the payment plan and the contract all in one!)
DO YOU OFFER PAYMENT PLANS?
Of course! Your collection fee can be split up, no problem! Here's an example of what I usually do: Option 1: 50% due at time of invoice w/ remainder due 7 days prior to session date | Option 2: 33.3% due at time of invoice, 33.3% due midway, 33.3% due 7 days prior to session date
How many photos are typically included and can we print the photos ourselves?
Your proofing gallery typically includes anywhere between 200-500 photos. The amount varies depending on which session you choose, (the longer the session, the more image options!) This gallery is where you'll choose your favorites from, and once you do, I'll make finishing touches and deliver your finals, which you can then print wherever, and whenever ya want!
When do you charge travel fees?
I typically add travel fees on to any session outside of a 60 mile radius from my home in Texarkana, Arkansas. Fees vary depending on location, so just ask me for more details!
The next step is to just respond back to the email that contained this link, stating that you'd like to book. Easy peasy! Then, I'll send you a proposal, (which is the contract and the payment plan all in one,) and we'll be well on our way to getting this party started!
YAS! I CAN'T WAIT TO WORK TOGETHER!
